Eye Clinic Herzog Carl Theodor

The Herzog Carl Theodor Eye Clinic enjoys an excellent reputation - as shown by surveys of ophthalmologists and patients alike. The name recognition of all our operating physicians is high, also in comparison to other Munich eye clinics.

We are pleased that in surveys the individual and caring care of our patients is regularly emphasized in addition to the comprehensive professional competence. In this way, we fulfill one of our most important requirements. Not only our physicians, but also the approximately 90 employees of the clinic always have the well-being of the patients in mind and complement each other optimally in treatment and care. This is confirmed not least by our newly acquired DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and 13485:2021 certification.

The Herzog Carl Theodor Eye Clinic has made a good name for itself, particularly in the more than 6,000 cataract and glaucoma operations performed annually, but also in retinal operations and strabismus and eyelid surgery.

The quality and results of these treatments are rated as very good by surveyed ophthalmologists. All our premises, especially the surgery outpatient department and our patient rooms, are designed in a friendly manner so that you as a patient feel comfortable with us.

All-round support from our team

"While we cannot replace your familiar surroundings, we will make every effort to make your stay with us as pleasant as possible." This is how administrative manager Kai Wernick sums up the concerns of the entire team. With human warmth, competence and loving care, the approximately 90 employees look after the patients of the eye clinic. They are constantly expanding their professional expertise, as Stefanie Kramer, head of the nursing service, explains: "By constantly developing our employees, we ensure high quality and professionalism in nursing care. Cooperation within the team is characterized by mutual appreciation and acceptance, which is evident both in the way we work together and in our dealings with patients."

Andreas Lübber heads the kitchen team and takes excellent care of the patients' physical well-being, "with fresh ingredients, varied food and professional preparation." Our organic certificate not only confirms our commitment to sustainable catering, but also offers greater transparency for patients.

At your side
In our clinic, around 50 nursing staff look after your well-being. "Just lie down and feel good. Loving and knowledgeable staff, exceptionally good specialist and very good aftercare after the surgery" is the comment of one of our patients.

To ensure that our patients feel well cared for, we make sure that we recruit highly qualified and committed specialists right from the recruitment stage. In addition, we offer our employees a working atmosphere that allows them to contribute their knowledge and commitment in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Satisfied employees, satisfied patients
"We are united by a great sense of solidarity. That's why I enjoy working here," is how one of our nurses sums it up. Regulated working hours, flexible part-time models and a work-life balance ensure that our employees can go about their work without pressure and take sufficient time for their patients. So it's no surprise to us that, according to the independent portal "WEISSE LISTE", our clinic is recommended by patients significantly more often than other clinics.

High standards
But we do not rest on our laurels. Every year, our clinic helps more than 12,000 patients to see better. Our employees also play a decisive role in this. To ensure that new therapies and techniques quickly benefit patients, we regularly offer our employees advanced training and also train junior staff.

"We are united by a really great solidarity. That's why I enjoy working here."

Roswitha has been working at the eye clinic for more than 16 years.

In particular, we use microsurgical operating techniques. We therefore place particular emphasis on specially trained surgical assistants and OR nurses. In addition, we train our employees, for example, on hygiene-related topics ("Clean Hands" campaign), pain management and clinical emergency management. We are proud of the fact that we are able to retain our highly qualified employees for the long term. Our many years of experience and good teamwork are also felt by you as a patient.
